Graduation!

i finally graduated from my master's program last weekend! woohoo! my parents drove down from san jose and chris' family flew down too. we all drove out to los angeles for my ceremony and reception at 4 o'clock last Friday. our neighbors, the williams, drove out to celebrate with us too. it was nice to have so many friends and family members join in on the celebration! there were only 10 graduates out of the 13 in the program who participated in the graduation so it was nice and small. it's hard to believe we are finally done after 3 long years of hard work! myself and another student actually managed to hold onto a 4.0 gpa too! i felt such a sense of closure. yeah!

beach trip

it's mid-january and it's 80 degrees here. i'm not kidding. we ventured down to san diego (aww) today to go to the beach. it was nice to spend time in our city again. the gang all went. . . chris, myself, and logan; chris, amanda, nathan, and emily; and pat and jen. we all hung out at mission beach for a few hours. then some of us went on to balboa park for awhile. it was nice to get out and about while the weather is still so freakishly nice. logan and emily enjoyed their very first trip to the beach.

Happy 6 months Logan!

logan turned 6 months old today! the time has flown by! chris and i were talking this morning about what we were doing 6 months ago. logan was born on 7/17/08 at 8:11 a.m. it feels like it was just yesterday. we spent the day today hanging out in old town temecula and just spending time the 3 of us. we ate lunch at rosa's and did a little shopping in old town. it was nice. tonight we had movie night (nate's pick) at our house. nathan and logan wore their superman pajamas and laughed with each other. they are so cute together!

Logan and Oreo

for those of you who don't know our beloved kitty, oreo, let me fill you in. oreo joined our family almost 10 years ago (whoa!) when i was still going to ucsd and chris and i lived in an apartment in la jolla. such a simple time now that i look back on it. oreo had been the center of our universe prior to the arrival of logan. he is a very easy going personality. when you pet him or touch his tail, he lays down and looks at you as if to say, "ok, now rub my belly please." he is the sweetest cat i've ever known. we adore him. he's adjusted nicely to logan. i admit. . . he was not so happy when logan first arrived in our home. oreo went through an adjustment phase. now though, he walks over to logan and rubs up against us when we are holding the baby. oreo lays there patiently, while logan attempts to pet him. we let him. . . with supervision of course. they love having one another to watch. here are a few recent photos of logan rolling around and checking out oreo any chance he gets.

new milestones

this is a picture of logan's "friends." he just loves his duckie, lion, dino, and kitty cat! he is usually holding one of them wherever we go! aren't they so cute!

logan is holding his own bottle these days. i'm not sure when this happened exactly. he just started doing it. such a big boy!

logan sat in his new high chair he got from grandma and grandpa caveney for the first time last week. he actually likes sitting in it while chris and i are eating dinner at the table. logan isn't eating solids just yet so he hangs out in his chair playing with toys.
