finally feeling better

last tuesday, i started feeling funny. . . i mean sick funny. on wednesday evening, i came down with a fever of 102.7 that stayed with me for a few days. luckily, chris was on paid time off and could watch logan while i slept for a few days. i came out of my funk on sunday. good news is i lost 6 pounds of my baby weight! i had to flip my week this week due to chris having meetings in san diego. so, loges and myself hung out the past two days while i continued to get back on my feet. below are a few pictures we had taken of logan at picture people right before he turned 7 months old. i awoke from my sick slumber and my baby had more hair and 2 more teeth poking out of his gums. we've been attached at the hip (literally) the past 2 days. i go back to work tomorrow for 3 days. then we are headed up to san jose for cousin aiden's 1st birthday party this weekend! there was also a picture of logan standing with a white stool. i'll have to bug chris again for it.

"this is much easier now that i can sit up by myself!"
"hi guys!"
"i'm shy"
"don't bother me, i'm busy playing"

so cute!

alyssa came to town

my cousin katie, jeff, and their daughter, alyssa came to temecula a couple of weekends ago. alyssa is just 6 weeks older than logan. it was so cute seeing them together! alyssa was showing logan how to crawl. logan just sat there and watched her. he came close. . . but still no crawling.

logan's first injury

(sigh). . . it was going to happen eventually. i was trying my best to prolong the inevitable. i am, by my very nature, a cautious person. i check things out before i do something new. i look before i leap. my husband, on the other hand, does not. chris has broken so many bones in his life, that even i, after hearing the stories the past 12 years, can't keep track. i knew the day would come, when i would worry about this, when we had our own son. this day has arrived.

the night of january 30th, chris and i were both on logan watch. logan was rolling around on the floor in the family room. i was sitting on the couch watching him. chris was talking to oreo and also watching logan. in a split second, logan was up on all 4's and was trying to go forward. he was so close to crawling. we were both watched with anticipation. . . thinking at any moment, he was going to start crawling and then. . . and then. . . he fell sideways and bumped his head on the edge of our entertainment center. boo. poor bubbas started crying in hysterics. i wasn't too concerned at first until he stopped and i saw the shiner on his head. whoa.

i became more concerned when my normally calm husband said we should call the doctor ("just to be sure"). the doctor on the phone said there was nothing to worry about since he wasn't bleeding and didn't lose consciousness. logan was quite content except for when chris tried to put a cold compress on the side of his head. logan screamed and cried so much that oreo became concerned and came over to rescue the baby. i think it might be time to bubble wrap the baby and call it a day.
oops!

happy birthday logan and oreo!!!

logan turned 7 months old today! oreo also celebrated a birthday on valentine's day! he joined our family 10 years ago! we sure do love our mr.cookie!

best buds

logan had his 6-month check up on 2/12 (even though he turned 7 months old today). loges is doing great! he did well during his appointment today. . . i think he liked the doctor's glasses. he was smiling and showing off for her. she was impressed with his gross motor abilities. logan is clapping and waving, which she said doesn't typically happen until 9 months. he is doing lots of pinwheels and rolling of course. he weighed in at 19 pounds, 8 ounces (the 75th percentile). his length and head size were in the 90th percentile. way to go bubbas! he is also getting 3 more teeth! yep! 3! 2 on the top front and 1 on the bottom next to the 2 he already has in the front. Soon, my baby will have 5 teeth! wow!
my little weirdo loves getting his teeth brushed
"this is so fun!"
he loves brushing his own teeth too!

"i love this guys!"

a moment worth stopping for

last friday, i was driving around getting lunch for me with logan in the back seat. while i was stopped at a red light, i looked in my rear view mirror and had a moment. a moment of utter and complete peace. a moment of pure love. all was right in the world. at least in my world. at that very moment, no worries entered my mind. no stress. in my rear view mirror, all i saw was my son. happy. smily. wonderful. my eyes welled up with tears. happy tears. i smiled from ear to ear. i love my days with loges. he's the best.

Sea Life

while my parents were here for my graduation a couple of weekends ago, we checked out legoland's new aquarium, sea life. we wanted to do something new for everyone so sea life was the perfect choice. it was cute but i definitely would have rather gone to legoland. i love that place! after sea life, we all went to the carlsbad outlets. i got a new coach purse with some of my graduation money (thanks everyone!) and logan got a lot of cute new clothes. thanks grandma and papa! we love having you visit us! here are a few pictures from our day.
