we went to picture people tuesday and had pictures taken of logan with his cousin nathan. they took pictures in their halloween costumes as well as matching outfits. so cute! i'm waiting to order the ones i want so in the mean time. . . here are a couple pictures we took while we were waiting. logan loves wearing his pumpkin costume! can't wait to go to the halloween party!

The Mommy Club

moms deny that such a club exists but really it does, at least to me. i was taking my daily walk around harveston lake this morning when i started thinking about the mom club. it's an unspoken sort of club but it definitely exists. i was speed walking, pushing logan up a small incline when another mom pushing her stroller going the other direction passed by. we acknowledged each other with a quick hello and a good morning like moms tend to do around here. i passed another mom a few minutes later and she asked how i was as she passed by quickly, keeping up her pace. it's not just the words though, it's how they are spoken and the look on these women's faces as they look at one another. it's an unspoken bond of understanding. of not getting enough sleep and even when you do, you don't sleep as soundly or as carefree as you used to. the messy poos, the constant worrying. of putting everyone else's needs ahead of your own because that's just what you do. of loving a little one so much you just can't describe it adequately in words. you would do anything to protect your child from the world. the look expresses an understanding of i've been there and i get it. it's a club and i feel so honored to finally be a part of it.

Our Weekend

so, the weekend has come and gone yet again. we kept busy, nothing too eventful but we kept ourselves entertained. friday night we had movie night. it was "uncle pat's" pick. "uncle pat" is amanda's brother. for some reason everyone calls him that. not sure why but it's fun. saturday morning we went to the twin's soccer game. so fun to see them play soccer and hang out with friends. saturday night we stopped by chris and amanda's for some pie. yum! logan spent some time hanging out with his uncle chris and talking to his favorite octopus.

Logan's First Trip to the San Diego Zoo

chris woke up today not feeling well, so he decided to take a sick day. he joined me on my daily walk around harveston lake in the morning. on our walk he says, "you want to go to the zoo or the wild animal park today?" "what?" such a sweet husband. i think he wanted to help get us out of the house and do something different. so we ventured down to san diego to take logan to the zoo. it was hot but we made the most of it. i always forget how many steep hills there are until we are stuck walking up one. logan slept through most of our trip but woke up towards the end.

Best Buds

our best friends and next door neighbors, the williams, stopped by last night with their youngest son, hendrix, to say hello to logan. hendrix is just 6 weeks older than logan. they are finally both able to hold their heads up and see each other. they appear to be checking out the other's pajamas in this picture. it will be so fun to watch them grow up together!
