a second trip to see about THE mouse. . .

i'm behind on blogging about what we've been up to these days. i look forward to writing down what we've done and organizing pictures of logan. i plan to print out my posts and create one of those blurb books so i can show logan what we did when he was a baby. i know some of you look forward to hearing about our recent adventures too. so here goes. . .

we made another trip to disneyland a little over a week ago. since we have annual passes this year, we made a trip with chris, amanda, nathan, and emily. this was logan's second trip to disneyland. he's going to be one of those southern california kids who frequent disneyland too often to know some people never get to go to the 'happiest place on earth'. i know. i know. it's weird. considering what a trek that was growing up. we had a fun time. i was much smarter this time with the rides i allowed logan on. we sat out on the pirates ride. logan took a quick nap instead. he absolutely loved small world. yeah! he liked the winnie the pooh ride too. whew, mission accomplished. . . my baby will like disneyland!

My Birthday

today was my birthday. i turned 25 again. ha! ha! just kidding. i turned 32! i spent most of the day doing my final exam for my last class in my master's program. now i am officially done. chris, logan, and myself met up with chris, amanda, nathan, emily, and uncle pat at rodrigo's for my birthday dinner. it was nice and mellow, just how i like it. we came back to our house for presents and ice cream cake. yum! kris and janice next door stopped by too. it was a nice birthday spent with good friends and family.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

we got our christmas tree on thursday night. it was more of a spontaneous outing. after logan's doctor's appointment we stopped by chris and amanda's since it's on our way home. after a few minutes, amanda says, "hey, let's get our christmas trees!" ok. so we did! we checked out a local christmas tree farm first, but ended up at lowe's since they were less expensive. it was nice to get a tree without having to worry about planning it out first!

speaking of christmas. . . our street is really decked out in christmas lights this year! i mean, our street usually looks nice with lights but this year, our neighbors have all put up white and green christmas tree lights in the trees on the parking strips. it looks amazing! almost the entire street is lit up and has matching trees on the street. i'm so proud of our christmas spirit! i'm working on chris getting a picture that would capture it but i'm not sure it's possible.

we also checked out the temecula christmas electrical parade last night. it was more of an organized event than i anticipated! it started at 7 pm and lasted until 9 pm. chris, logan, and myself met chris, amanda, nathan, and emily down at the parade. more friends from work also joined in on the fun. logan was such a good boy and was very interested in the lights and sounds of the parade! he stayed awake the entire time and didn't cry once!

santa also arrived today at the harveston lakehouse. chris, logan, and myself headed over to see what all of the commotion was about. there were arts and crafts, hula hooping on the lawn, card making, snacks, and santa of course. we waited in line for about 10 minutes, then decided it wasn't worth the wait with logan asleep. i didn't like the idea of him waking up to be handed over to a stranger. not good to set the kid up having a santa complex right? we'll try to see santa at the mall when logan is actually awake and can somewhat prepare himself.

I Graduated Today!

it has been a long 3.5 years of my master's program. initially, it sounded like a good idea to work full time and still go to school. it was ok a few years ago. i must admit, it was pretty tough while i was preggo and even tougher once logan arrived. but today, i actually graduated with my master's degree! i didn't get to walk though, seeing as i graduated from a satellite program from unr (university of nevada at reno). we weren't about to go to reno with our little one! hopefully, we'll have some sort of graduation ceremony in january with all of the people from work. it will be so nice to not have to think about school anymore! yeah! i'm not sure what i will do with my time. maybe clean the house! ha! ha! i still have to sit for my bcba (board certified behavioral analyst) exam in march but let's not think about that right now.
