logan had another doctor's appointment yesterday morning (i'm behind on posting). nothing to worry about. he's doing great! he is recovering nicely from his cold too. he weighs 19 pounds now and was 28.5 inches long. logan did much better this time and only cried at the second shot in his chunky little thigh. he was too happy looking at his lion to notice the first shot! such a sweet baby. i can't even look at him when he is getting his shots. it breaks my heart. i can tolerate logan crying without crying myself now, so long as i get to hold him immediately afterwards. these appointments are tough on both of us!
we checked out a new restaurant in temecula last night that my husband has been excited about. shakey's opened this week so we had to go ourselves and see what chris has been talking about. shakey's is a cute pizza place that also serves chicken. they have tasty potato cake fries too. yum! we all had a good time. i forgot to bring my camera though!

Taco Tuesday
we went to taco tuesday this evening (i'm behind on my blogging). it was jen's (pat's girlfriend) first taco tuesday at rosa's with the gang. logan loved hanging out with everyone and was all smiles. we came home and he was rolling on the floor like crazy! he flips over a few times in a row now. his night ended with falling asleep while eating holding his dinosaur. i scooped him up and held him for a few minutes, feeling and hearing him breathing deeply as he slept. hands down, the best part of my day.

Happy New Year!
2008 was a very busy year for us! we received many blessings this year. our biggest blessing of all was of course the arrival of our little logan on july 17th. he is simply amazing and we absolutely adore him. i honestly can't imagine our life before logan was the center of it. he's the best.
along with the life changing event of our first child, chris and i both received promotions at work. i became a case supervisor at card with the passing of my dreaded oral exams (i was 36 weeks pregnant when i took them-quite a feat in and of itself). chris is now a district manager with petco. he is in charge of a number of stores here in southern california. i also graduated from my master's program in 2008 as well. we are having a ceremony later this month.
2008 also brought along two cousins for logan. aiden was born in february and emily was born in november. logan is lucky to have cousins so close in age. it'll be fun to see them all grow up together!
we brought in the new year at chris and amanda's, playing guitar hero and watching the ball drop. we all had a good time. it's nice to bring in the new year with loved ones. we are looking forward to 2009 with logan. happy new year everyone!

we found out my dad had prostate cancer. my parents actually found out about the news the day chris and i told my them we were finally pregnant with logan. they were kind enough to keep the devastating news from us for a few days. we are so thankful dad's levels are down and tests have shown he is beating the cancer.logan lovin on papa
with all that had taken place in 2008, we are looking forward to a quieter and calmer 2009!we brought in the new year at chris and amanda's, playing guitar hero and watching the ball drop. we all had a good time. it's nice to bring in the new year with loved ones. we are looking forward to 2009 with logan. happy new year everyone!

on new year's day, we took a quick trip to legoland for a few hours. we have season passes there so it was nice to venture down to carlsbad. we wanted to see the christmas decorations and see how they decorated mini-land with christmas legos before they took the decorations down. boy, was it cold! i forgot how foggy the coast gets around sunset. i love it though, had i been prepared and brought a jacket for myself! oops! logan loves people watching and looking around. he had a good time too. he feel asleep towards the end and slept the entire drive home.me and logan in front of the lego christmas tree

logan's first cold
boo! logan has his very first cold. it's hard to watch my poor sweet little baby with his runny nose and his tired eyes. we've been out of town since last wednesday for christmas. it's nice to have him in his own bed tonight. i'm hoping this cold passes quickly. logan is being such a trooper. poor baby.

Logan's Christmas Trip to San Jose
we returned home today from our trip to san jose for christmas. (it actually took me a few days to sort through our pictures - we had over 500 of them!) here are pictures from our many christmas celebrations with family and friends. on christmas morning, we started with the caveney's, then headed over to the cory's, then back to the caveney's for dinner, and then to my aunt's house. we were definitely exhausted!

we saw family and friends and introduced logan to quite a few new faces. on friday morning, we saw our dear friend michele and her two little ones. so much fun catching up and seeing how big isiah and jordyn have gotten!
then we headed over to lunch with our close friends nino and jane. we met their significant others for the first time. they met logan for the first time too. we miss you guys!
this lunch thing first started with me and nino back in 1995
now look at us and all of our peeps!

on friday night, we ventured out into the freezing (i do mean freezing) cold with both sides of our family. every member of our immediate families headed out to gilroy gardens (formerly known as bonfante gardens). we all had a great time checking out the beautiful park and christmas decorations. we tried to bundle up logan as best we could. (thanks so much michele for giving us logan's jackets! we sure did need them!)
saturday, i had arranged a "mini-reunion" with some of my close friends from high school. three of us had just had baby boys within weeks of each other and two of my other friends had 1-year old boys. an additional friend had just gotten married a few months earlier. so, we all had life changing events to catch up on. it was so fun seeing all of the little ones together!

we also caught up with my grandma cory and my aunt, uncle, and cousin from sacramento. they were down just for the day on saturday.
by saturday night, we were exhausted. logan took a few photos with his cousin aiden back at the caveney's. he was so tired!

(mom arrived soon after this and i announced it was bedtime)
then we packed up our things to get ready for our early morning flight on sunday. logan was such a good boy on the plane. he is definitely a better flyer than his mommy! we flew out on christmas eve, expecting crowds at the airports. we were pleasantly surprised with our almost empty plane. it was quite an experience packing and traveling with a newborn! here are a few photos of logan at the airport and on the plane. these were actually taken on our way back home to temecula. he slept most of the time on the flights. such a good traveler! we arrived home with no problems. thank goodness! we are very happy to be home. i think we'll be home bodies for a little while. i'm tired just recapping our weekend!
